Vice President People, Practice and Quality, Saskatoon Health Region
Dr. Petrina McGrath is the Vice President of People, Practice and Quality at the Saskatoon Health Region (SHR). She provides leadership in the areas of Inter-professional Practice, Education and Research, Organizational Learning and Leadership, Staff and Patient Safety, Human Resources, Communication, Quality Improvement and Health Information.
Petrina McGrath is a registered nurse. She joined the SHR in 2011 from the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto where she served as Director of Nursing since 2004. In this role, she co-led numerous patient safety initiatives and led UHN’s Patient Centered Care strategy. Her previous roles include Clinical Nurse Specialist for palliative care and professional practice leader/educator for the medical/radiation oncology programs, as well as general nursing positions in Toronto and Saudi Arabia.
Petrina received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan and her Masters of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She completed doctoral studies at the Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California in 2014. Petrina is a Certified Lean Leader and also sits on the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation Board.
