WHMIS 2015 Education

SASWH has secured an industry standard WHMIS 2015 program developed by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS). SASWH acknowledges the partnership with Saskatchewan’s Workers’ Compensation Board and CCOHS to achieve this efficiency for the provincial healthcare sector.

Tailored to Saskatchewan’s legislation for WHMIS 2015, SASWH offers its members online and classroom facilitated education.

Facilitated Education

Worker completion of online training in WHMIS 2015, Saskatchewan version. Includes exam and certificate of completion

Cost: nominal one-time fee for this version

Classroom facilitated session capturing content from online learning. Includes participant material, exam and certificate of completion

Cost: $2.50/participant for materials or employer prints materials at their expense.

Presentation on the changes in WHMIS 2015 (safety data sheet, labels, pictograms, classifications).

This is offered at no cost.


Work outside the scope of SASWH with respect to WHMIS 2015 is the employer’s site and job specific education and training, which may include, but is not limited to:
  • new products/chemicals and/or change in supplier
  • personal protective equipment
  • specific procedures (e.g., disposal, emissions, emergency, spill kits)
  • job hazard analysis
